3/24/25 Legislative Update

Representative Sophie Phillips introduced an amendment to SB 21, which would allow corporations to opt-in to the proposed rules. The bill has passed the House Judiciary Committee and heads to the House Floor. 

The House Natural Resources Committee will review HS 1 for HB 62, which would change when utility companies can shut off access to electricity, including additional protections for people with health issues and restrictions on shutoffs during extreme weather.

Senator Laura Sturgeon and Representative Cyndie Romer have introduced SB 4, which would establish an Office of Inspector General. The bill will be heard in the Senate Executive Committee this Wednesday, March 26th.

The Senate Elections Committee will debate two constitutional amendments from Senator Darius Brown and Representative Bush allowing for early voting (SB 2) and no-excuse absentee voting (SB 3
